NoseSoothe
NoseSoothe™ – Peppermint Nasal Oil Spray for Winter Nasal Dryness & Comfort (10 ml)
For many people, winter brings a frustrating daily ritual that nobody talks about — the moment you blow your nose and check the tissue.
You wake up. Your nose feels tight, dry, like the skin inside has shrunk overnight.
You blow gently. There it is — a streak of red on white tissue.
You reach for the saline spray on the nightstand. A quick spritz in each nostril. It stings for a moment, then feels better. For about ten minutes.
By the time you’re dressed, your nose is dry again. By lunch, you’re reapplying. By bedtime, you’re back where you started.
And every winter, the same thought returns: “Why doesn’t anything actually last?”
Nasal dryness during the colder months can be influenced by several factors, including low indoor humidity from central heating, ageing, hormonal changes, certain medications, CPAP use and naturally dry climates.
But one important part of the problem is frequently overlooked.
When indoor heating runs during winter, humidity levels inside the home can drop to 20–30% — well below the 40–60% range generally considered comfortable for the nasal lining.
At these low humidity levels, every breath draws moisture from the thin, delicate membrane lining the inside of the nose.
This membrane — the nasal mucosa — relies on a layer of moisture to stay flexible, intact and comfortable. When heated indoor air strips that moisture away faster than the body can replace it, the lining can become dry, tight and fragile.
In some people, this leads to cracking, crusting and minor bleeding that can persist throughout the heating season — roughly October through March.
Many people respond by reaching for saline sprays, nasal gels, petroleum jelly or a bedroom humidifier.
Yet they may never consider why water-based solutions keep failing in an environment that is actively removing water from every surface — including the inside of their nose.
And that’s where NoseSoothe™ introduces a different approach.
Rather than adding more water to a surface that keeps losing water, NoseSoothe™ uses a plant-based oil to create a thin, non-evaporating barrier on the nasal lining — shielding it from dry heated air so it can recover underneath.
🔬 Meet NoseSoothe™
NoseSoothe™ is a metered-dose peppermint nasal oil spray designed to coat the nasal lining with a fine mist of plant-based oil, providing a physical barrier between the delicate nasal mucosa and dry indoor air.
Each bottle contains 10 ml — enough for approximately 100 sprays when used as directed.
The spray uses a plant-based oil carrier infused with peppermint. Oil does not evaporate in the same way that water-based sprays do, which means a single application can remain on the nasal lining for significantly longer than a saline spray.
Unlike saline sprays, which add water to a surface in an environment that actively removes water, an oil-based approach works with the physics of the situation rather than against them.
Published clinical studies have compared nasal oil sprays with isotonic saline sprays for nasal dryness, with some reporting that oil-based sprays were associated with greater improvements in dryness, stuffiness and crusting.
NoseSoothe™ brings this oil-barrier approach into a convenient, pocket-sized metered-dose format — with the added benefit of natural peppermint for an instant cooling sensation on application.
Plant-Based Oil Barrier — The Shield-and-Recover Approach
The core concept behind NoseSoothe™ is straightforward: oil does not evaporate in dry air. Water does.
When you spray a water-based saline mist into your nose, it provides temporary moisture. But in a room where the humidity sits at 20–30%, that moisture can evaporate within minutes — leaving the nasal lining exposed to dry air once again.
An oil-based spray creates a thin physical film on the nasal lining. This film acts as a barrier, preventing dry air from reaching the mucosa directly.
Underneath this protective layer, the nasal lining can retain its natural moisture and recover from dryness and minor cracking without being exposed to constant moisture loss.
Researchers in Sweden investigated sesame-based nasal oil spray against isotonic saline in a clinical crossover study, with participants using each treatment for 14 days. The oil spray was associated with statistically significant improvements across multiple measures of nasal dryness.
However, individual results vary, and NoseSoothe™ should not be regarded as a medical treatment for diagnosed nasal conditions.
Peppermint — The Instant Cooling Sensation
The peppermint in NoseSoothe™ activates TRPM8 receptors — cold-sensing receptors present in the nasal mucosa.
This creates an immediate cooling sensation on contact, which many users describe as a feeling of clear, open breathing.
Research has shown that this sensation is subjective — menthol does not measurably change nasal temperature or airflow, but a significant majority of study participants reported feeling that they could breathe more easily after menthol exposure.
This cooling sensation provides an immediate sensory signal that the spray has been delivered — a built-in confirmation that the product is where it needs to be.
⭐ Why People May Choose NoseSoothe™
✔ Focuses on oil-based protection rather than water-based moisture
Saline sprays add water. NoseSoothe™ adds a non-evaporating oil barrier. In heated indoor air, oil stays on the nasal lining far longer than water.
✔ Provides an instant cooling sensation
The peppermint activates cold-sensing receptors on contact, creating an immediate feeling of soothing, cool relief.
✔ No petroleum, no steroids, no decongestants
NoseSoothe™ uses a plant-based oil carrier. It contains no petroleum jelly, no corticosteroids and no decongestant chemicals that can contribute to further dryness.
✔ Designed for a simple daily routine
One spray per nostril. No finger application, no cotton buds, no messy gels. The metered-dose pump delivers a fine, consistent mist directly onto the nasal lining.
✔ Pocket-sized and portable
At 10 ml, NoseSoothe™ fits in a pocket, handbag or desk drawer. Your humidifier stays at home. Your nose goes everywhere.
✔ Suitable for daily use throughout the winter season
NoseSoothe™ is designed for regular use during the heating season — approximately October through March in most cold-climate regions.
✔ Gender-neutral positioning
NoseSoothe™ is designed for adult men and women who experience seasonal nasal dryness.
⚡ What Makes NoseSoothe™ Different?
✔ Oil barrier vs water replacement
Most nasal sprays are saline — essentially saltwater. They add temporary moisture that evaporates in minutes. NoseSoothe™ takes a fundamentally different approach: a non-evaporating oil film that shields the nasal lining from dry air.
✔ Peppermint cooling as sensory confirmation
The cooling sensation is not just pleasant — it tells you the spray has reached the right place. No guessing, no reapplying.
✔ Research-informed formulation
NoseSoothe™ is formulated around published clinical findings comparing nasal oil sprays with saline for nasal dryness. The oil-barrier approach has been investigated in multiple studies, including a randomised crossover trial.
This does not mean NoseSoothe™ is a proven medical treatment. It means the concept has been studied, and the results were promising.
✔ Metered-dose spray rather than a squeeze bottle or ointment
The pump delivers a fine, calibrated mist. No squeezing, no dripping, no finger application.
✔ Plant-based rather than petroleum-based
Petroleum jelly is commonly recommended for nasal dryness, but it was not designed for the inside of the nose. NoseSoothe™ uses a plant-based oil carrier formulated specifically for nasal application.
✔ Designed around scientific transparency
The available nasal oil studies are promising but involve relatively small participant groups. NoseSoothe™ communicates realistic expectations rather than miracle claims.
👤 Who Is NoseSoothe™ For?
NoseSoothe™ is designed for adults who:
Experience dry, tight or uncomfortable nasal passages during the heating season.
Notice minor bleeding or crusting when blowing their nose in winter.
Have tried saline sprays but find the relief too short-lived.
Have used nasal gels that burn or sting on application.
Have applied petroleum jelly but feel uncomfortable about using it inside the nose.
Own a humidifier but still experience nasal dryness away from home.
Manage nasal dryness for family members — children, a partner or elderly parents.
Use a CPAP machine or supplemental oxygen that dries the nasal passages.
Prefer a plant-based approach without steroids, decongestants or petroleum.
Want a simple, portable solution they can carry in a pocket or handbag.
Persistent nosebleeds, significant nasal pain, difficulty breathing or symptoms that do not improve should be assessed by a healthcare professional.
🔄 Simple Daily Routine
Step 1 — Prime the pump (first use only)
Before first use, remove the cap and press the pump 3–4 times until a fine mist appears. This ensures accurate dosing from your first spray.
Step 2 — Spray
Insert the nozzle gently into one nostril. Press the pump once to deliver a single metered dose. Repeat in the other nostril.
Step 3 — Breathe in gently
Sniff gently to distribute the oil across the nasal lining. Do not inhale sharply.
Step 4 — Feel the cooling sensation
Within seconds, the peppermint activates cold-sensing receptors in the nose, creating a cool, soothing feeling — your confirmation that the oil is where it needs to be.
Step 5 — Use as needed
Apply once in the morning, once before bed, or as needed throughout the day. Ideal before exposure to heated indoor environments, air-conditioned offices, flights or dry-climate travel.

📚 Scientific Research Behind Nasal Oil
Johnsen et al. (2001) — Archives of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery
A randomised crossover study (n=79) in northern Sweden compared sesame-based nasal oil spray with isotonic saline spray for nasal dryness symptoms. Oil was associated with statistically significant improvements in dryness, stuffiness and crusting (P<.001 across all measures).
Björk-Eriksson et al. (2000) — Rhinology
A study (n=40) examined sesame oil spray in patients with dry nasal mucosa. Symptoms decreased significantly, with the greatest improvement observed in dryness. Side effects were few and mild.
Cathcart-Rake et al. (2024) — Supportive Care in Cancer
A Mayo Clinic phase III double-blind randomised controlled trial (n=84 evaluable) compared a plant oil nasal spray with isotonic saline for nasal symptoms. 67.4% of participants using the oil spray reported improvement, compared with 36.6% using saline (P=0.009).
These studies provide a scientific rationale for the oil-barrier approach, but they do not establish that NoseSoothe™ treats or cures any medical condition. Individual results may vary.
